Bouncercise:  Rebound Away the Pounds




One of the best exercise tools for shedding weight and improving your health...

Almost every weight loss advice you will get includes the following:  Exercise more. So you start walking, which is great! And you join a gym and maybe set up an exercise routine to do at home.

And then one day it rains and you don't go for that walk. Or maybe you go to the gym and the guy next to you keeps switching the TV to the sports channel (or the gal next to you switches to Lifetime) and it isn't as much fun at the gym and you stop going as often. And your routine at home gets boring... What should you do?

Persevere, of course, and keep moving your body. And I have a suggestion that will help you. Get a rebounder!

A rebounder or mini-trampoline is a relatively inexpensive piece of exercise equipment that anyone can use. If you have every jumped up and on a bed as a child or at any age then you can use a rebounder. Rebounders are lightweight, easy to store and easy to use,even on rainy days. Jump up and down on one for just 10 minutes a day and you will discover a world of difference in your weight and health.

The technical term doing exercises on a rebounder is bouncercise. Bouncercise combines the benefits of rebounding, aerobics, and strength training. Muscles that are often ignored through conventional exercises start receiving the benefit of stimulation and circulation.

There are many advantages and benefits to using a rebounder. Here are some of them:

  • It's easy on the muscles. While you are gently bouncing, muscles are stimulated and massaged into a healthier condition. Move slowly at first on your mini-trampoline and let the bounce do the work for you.

  • Aerobic/Endurance Exercise. Research done by NASA scientists found that bouncing on a mini-trampoline was 68% more efficient than jogging.

    The lymphatic system relies on body movement to open and close the one-way valves to carry lymphatic cells through the channels. Just a few minutes of Bouncercising may increase lymph flow as much as fifteen times.

The amount of time you need to spend on a rebounder is not much, ten minutes a day. Yet the potential rewards are great! Due to the effects of gravity moving through your body as you jump up and done, basically every cell gets some stimulation.

If your body is healtheier, you will move more, be more energitic and be able to resist the temptations of food that has empty calories.

When buying a rebounder or mini-trampoline be sure you get an adult version. Some rebounders are sold as "toys" for kids and they cannot handle heavy adults. Your rebounder should be capable of handling up to 300 lbs. Good rebounders have foldable legs for easy storage.
